REAL TIME SCORING

Looking for real time scoring options? Look no further. We've rounded them up and given you the options. We reviewed these last year, and several got bad reviews. A lot has changed. This year, most of the big boys have made their scoreboards much more functional. What we look for is a good scoreboard, that needs little scrolling to keep up with. We also don't want to click much to see a breakdown in the action. Here are links to the best, with our review.

CBS SPORTSLINE.com
This was hands down our favorite last year, and it still is. The games are compact on two rows, and no space is wasted. The scrolling is far less than any other site, but the one above. There are three links under each game, but the GameCenter link is where you'll want to go. Once there, the whole game is laid out in an easy to find way. Plus, it has a nice reference to go to past weeks on the left.

ESPN.com
The Worldwide Leader in Sports made a huge jump from last year, when they were rated our worst scoreboard. They finally compacted the game, but may offer a little too much on each scoreboard. That means scrolling. It also is long when clicking into games and you have to scroll and scroll to find the info you're looking for sometimes.

THE SPORTING NEWS.com
This is a good quick reference scoreboard. It lists the scoring plays, in quarter, allowing those of you with TD intensive fantasy leagues the ability to see who scored right on the front. It's a little big, but there is no clicking to do if all you want is scoring during the games. Like a "ten-minute ticker", except faster and always there.

CNNSI.com
This one is a little goofy compared to the others, but in a good way. It is compact and you don't have to scroll. It also has a neat little deal to compare any two teams. We highly recommend this for smaller monitors, or if you just want to just look at scores without looking for scores.

FOX SPORTS.com
This is not too bad for compactness. It's laid out really different, almost to a fault. They keep the games close together, so there is little scrolling. It's kind of long when you click into the games, but it's okay.

NFL.com
Linked heavily with ESPN, you get a lot of the same stuff between them. In fact, they're virtually identical. Actually, maybe they are. So if you like ESPN's scoreboard, you will like this one.

USA TODAY.com
This is a boring, just the scores, type scoreboard. The only reason we list it is because it shows scores from all sporting events. So if you're somewhere and want to keep up on all the days scores in every sport, this is where you want to go.
